Keri Nixon

Keri Nixon, chief microbiologist, has been employed at HML, Inc. (Hoosier Microbiological Laboratory) since May 2000. She has a bachelor of science degree in biology and anthropology from Indiana University - Bloomington.

Keri is responsible for coordinating various tests on food, drinking water, wastewater, and industrial products. Some of her responsibilities include Isolation and Identification of legionella, isolation and identification of mold, Giardia/Crypto testing, G21 and G22 analysis, as well as 503 pathogen screening. Keri is also responsible for quality control checks and method development, as well as overseeing all microbiology employees.

Her experience includes operating the following equipment: spectrophotometer, light microscope, dissecting microscope, fluorescent microscope, centrifuge, stomacher, sonic dismembrator, on-site air monitoring equipment.

Keri is a member of Phi Mu.
